Located in the bookstore-rich University District, this old shop buys and sells general, scholarly and academic used books. Look for complete sets by single authors, encyclopedia sets and other keepsake volumes. Magus Books buys and trades around 1000 used books each week, so it's always a new adventure to see what you can find. The staff will also do a personal search for your desired book if you email them with your request. The shop has specific book buying hours and private libraries and collections by appointment.

tripadvisorThis bookstore is almost more like a maze! Books wall to wall in giant stacks on every topic under the sun. We were able to find a couple of excellent books, and the staff was kind and helpful.
MoreThe inviting book store has a wide selection of new and used books that are often difficult to find elsewhere. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Browse the shelves and you will certainly find the perfect book.
MoreI called to check on a book. The young woman was so enthusiastic and helpful! She found the book, held it for me, 10 min later I had the book and bought a sweatshirt too! I love this store. Next time I’ll stay longer to look at more books. It’s a favorite for sure.
MoreI absolutely love coming here whenever I'm in town (as I used to do when I lived in this area). It's a used bookstore with just about everything for everyone - I never made it without buying at least an armload of books at great prices, including fascinating new books I didn't anticipate finding. There are also rarer out-of-print books here.
MoreThis is one of the very best used bookstores on the West Coast. Just about every time I drop by I come away with armloads of books. And more than once, I’ve found a title I’d never have expected to find. I can’t recommend Magus highly enough to book lovers, and particularly those with academic leanings.
