Located in Volunteer Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Volunteer Park Conservatory is a botanical garden made up of five different houses. Modeled after the Crystal Palace in London, these ornately, victorian style greenhouses hold various botanical wonders. Each greenhouse holds a different variety of plants, from succulents, ferns, palms and bromeliads to cacti and seasonal flora. A Seattle staple since 1922, the extensive collection has grown thanks to generous donations from the public and private benefactors. Visitors can roam through the greenhouses for a small fee of USD 4 or choose to take one of the tours on offer. Be sure to visit the website for further details.

tripadvisorBeautiful indoor garden with magical waterfalls, dessert walkways and incredible floral displays! The only thing missing here is you...
MoreI hardly expected such a lovely collection of plant specimens as I got to see when we visited. Knowing very little about botany myself, I'm not the most equipped to really judge many aspects of it, but it's a very nice greenhouse and it's a lovely experience.
MoreThis is a collection of botanical plants in a beautiful building at the top of Volunteer Park. Right next to the Seattle Art Museum. Lovely to wander among the plants. Small fee to enter.
MoreA beautiful conservatory built in 1921 that hasn't changed a bit. The building itself looks like architectural victorian lace and the plants inside are stunning. We had a wonderful time exploring this little indoor wonderland. There are 5 areas to see, seasonal, cacti, ferns, palm section (which is where the orchids are), and bromeliads. Although the space is small there is a lot packed in there to see so take your time. The staff are great and can answer any questions you have about any of the plants. Parking is free and the cost to get in was under $5.00.
MoreReally nice in a nice well kept park. Has some really great plant species, air plants. Small and quick stop.
