Located in Central District, Pony is a LGBT dive bar which serves pints, and pitchers of strong pours and features a great year-round outdoor patio with a fire pit and retractable roof. This bar is certainly not for the meek or the under-aged, as the walls are splattered with explicit content. This divey-piece-of-goodness is equipped with a dance floor and the DJ plays great tunes while also letting you gulp down decently priced drinks.

It was Gay Pride Day and they upped the price of a well vodka and soda to $14, for NO REASON. I have tried to contact them several times with NO RESPONSE. Clearly they do not care

MoreRight, so if you’re expecting an Uber-stylish modern queer bar, this place probably isn’t for you.It’s reminiscent of a bar that one could imagine being in the 80s when there was an underground gay scene in the US. It’s a bit grungy, but that’s what it wants to be. There are inflatable penises on the ceiling, a glory hole in the toilet and a vinyl of a naked guy. Basically everything you need to have a fun night - it serves-up a bit seedy without actually being overtly seedy, and is definitely an experience.If you’ve read some of my other reviews, it’s clear that a love to go a bit gay sometimes, and this place gave me exactly that. Not the best place I’ve been, and one of the bar tenders had a bit of an unwelcoming attitude but, nevertheless, I had a great night and met some cool people.Worth visiting if you’re in the Capitol Hill area.
MoreWent to visit Pony as some friends told us it used to be a hotspot. It was fine... Rather small but has a nice fire pit outside. Otherwise, it was fairly empty. I would recommend it for ppl who like cheap drinks.
MorePony is a fantastic gay bar that takes you straight back into the 70s, including go-go boys with body hair and moustaches. At the same time there is no attitude and staff are really happy to be helpful.
