Having lived in Bellingham for 40 years and returning for a visit after my husband's hip surgery, we decided to book a room for quiet and comfort while visiting friends .Booking a room was easy and pleasant When we arrived, the room was large and clean with a lovely view. My husband noticed a PA system and chairs set up right below our room. He went to the front desk to inquire They said there was a wedding and that the music would be over by 5:30 pm . We said ok and went to get a bite downtown. Upon returning, the music had stopped and all was quiet . Being exhausted from traveling 5 hours after having gotten up at 4 a. m. we were ready for some rest and relaxation. Then it started,BOOM BOOM BOOM . Heavy bass and screaming. Right below our room. My husband went down to the desk and they now informed us that there would be a band and noise until 10 pm but quieting down after 9 pm. Nobody mentioned this when we first inquired or we would have requested to move to a more quiet room. I even had a front desk clerk come up to the room even though I was in bed so she could hear and feel how loud it was . I told her I felt we deserved some compensation as there lack of communication caused us to be in this situation. She said we could discuss it with the manager who would be there two days later. WHAT? Ok so when we did talk to him, he said he could not do anything for us because the sales office would not allow it. He went on to state that next visit he could get us a good deal and an upgrade. So why couldn't he help us now? My husband says he will never stay there again . I almost want to see what this manager could do for us but doubful that will happen The place has a lovely view and is clean but the refrigerator did not work well and there is no microwave in the room and the lack of communication is alarming. Do not agree to stay in rooms 207 or 209 or any rooms near or above their event area unless you want to party!!

Nothing but positive things to say about our stay at the Bellwether. Gorgeous views from the room, very comfortable bed, and pillows, high end bath amenities and friendly helpful staff. Plus a very sweet resident dog. Would happily return and recommend to friends and family.

What a beautiful setting they have here…right on the waters’s edge. Our room was lovely and our bathroom was spacious. They offer a luxurious brand of bath products too. The mattresses were very comfortable. Our room was spotless and we would not hesitate to stay here again only next time will hope for some better rates because we paid a lot for our 3 day stay.

Lovely water view hotel on Bellingham Bay. Rooms were large and comfortable with firm mattresses and plump pillows. Towels were thick and absorbent. Staff very friendly. Two dinings options on site. Secure underground parking with a fee. Best of all they allowed us to continue parking our car for several days (for a fee) while we were on a sailboat trip from the marina. Wish we had known about the sauna experience at the hotel as it looked very fun...would be a fun splurge for a special occasion.
