Great little outing. The park does not charge an entry fee for day hikers. At the split to the falls is a corral with Longhorn Cows. You will want to take pictures of the falls and cows.

Went to walk/hike with Quincy at Overlook park at Lake Georgetown. Since Quincy is a fluffy white dog and there had been a gob of rain, we needed a paved trail...…( We are having a grooming problem right now as Quincy decided he doesn't want a haircut for some reason. He has tried to nip the groomer the last two trips so he is getting really shaggy:( )…... here we found the beginning of the Randy Morrow trail that leads several miles back to San Gabriel park in Georgetown. The trail started off pretty boring as we skirted the dam by once past the dam it got better. we finally got beside the North Fork San Gabriel River and into a canyon area where the trail changed from concrete to crushed gravel. Here was the beauty of this trail with some dripping springs along the rock face and a couple of scenic river views. There was also a water fall coming in from the side but I think it is seasonal flowing only during runoff as city workers were there taking pictures and measurements. Farther along (by the way you are in Booty's Park at this point) there is a low water crossing and a nice waterfall over an old dam. We turned around at the neighborhood because who wants to sidewalk hike!? Not I unless it is necessary. We will return and walk south from San Gabriel Park to finish this one. Also at Overlook Park there are accessible restrooms and paved accessible trails to a fishing platform and the lake shore.
