Fabulous day viewing many ibises, herons, roseate spoonbills, and nutrias. Birds were sitting on eggs showing all that breeding plumage. Our very LOCAL guides spent the whole day with us and knew their birds. I have never seen so many birds in one day.I highly recommend a day with this father son team.

This tour was the highlight of our visit to Lafayette and my cousin and I both would like to return at a different time of the year to see different things. We had a private tour with Kim who is extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and vegetation and the history of the area. He also gave us some good restaurant recommendations for the area and for New Orleans where we were headed next! We lucked out because our tour was in November and it is not that usual to see as many alligators snd beautifully colored birds during this time of the year. They were magnificent. Neither my cousin nor I are professional photographers nor do we possess sophisticated cameras but we are both enthusiastic cell phone photographers. Kim has taken out many people who are expert and sell their work professionally so he more or less designs his tour for picture taking enthusiasts and knows where to get the best shots and the best angles. It was a great day and Kim is a great guide.

My family and I have visited many places all over the world and have had many different tour guides over the years, we all agree this was in the top 5 things we have ever done as a family. And it’s not easy to impress our two teenage daughters. Mr. Kim was great. The time he took to ensure we experienced everything the swamp had to offer was greatly appreciated. This 3 1/2 hour tour was $300, but well worth triple that price.

My husband and I spent a week exploring the Atchafayla Swamp in March. We did 2 days of photo tour with Mr. Kim and his son Kim, and had the best 2 days ever! What a joy to experience something with such wonderful people. They were extremely helpful in helping us find a great place to stay, and where to eat, and even rearranged their schedules to accommodate our tour when bad storms came through the area. Knowledable of every aspect of wildlife in the swamp. As a photographer I couldn't ask for anything better. We are already planning on returning, and this tour company is the only one I would recommend. I am so glad I found them!

If you want a top of the line, 5 star tour of the swamp and basin, look no further. My wife and two boys booked a private tour with Kim and he went above and beyond our expectations. You won't find a nicer, more knowledgeable guide in all of Atchafalaya, I'd put money on it. We had a great time exploring. Kim knows that basin like the back of his hand. We will be back, they offer a large variety of tours. DO IT, you will not be disappointed. Thanks, Kim, we will stay in touch for the other trips we talked about!
