tripadvisorWe went there to have a tea party- our nieces were so excited. It’s on second floor. You are seated and the kids in your party can choose a doll to “sit with them”. They then bring you four “cinnamon rolls”. Then you are asked about your choice of tea vs pink lemonade or you can pay extra for one of the other drinks on the menu. The tea is for sure nothing special- it’s one step up from Lipton tea bags. Not a large variety. And then you get a little platter with “finger foods”- a few pieces of turkey cold cuts on sandwich bread; same with some cucumber + cream cheese and a few with avocado; there is also some ginger bread cookies and few chocolate strawberries and some small mouse cups… nothing spectacular when you consider the price tag ($160 dollars for our group of 4 without tip). The store is cute and there are little girls getting “dolled up” downstairs or you can mingle among merchandise that is also pretty expensive (a lot of broken hearted kiddos if you can’t afford it leaving empty handed). They don’t validate parking- they mentioned to go to another store (? “Gleason’s”) where if you purchase something for $10 or more will validate your parking (1st hour free and then 10/hr). The staff are nice though a bit over extended. So as long as you are not anticipating a great tea experience- would be ok
MoreWe went for my daughters 5th bday. OMG phenomenal staff! They ALL surpassed my expectations!!!!! What a wonderful experience! It was my sister’s and I first time bringing our daughters and OMG we lovedddd it!!! My niece who’s 10 even said “wow that’s the best service “ I couldn’t have agreed with her more! Thank you all!
MoreAmerican Girl dolls are not cheap but this is a cute place just to have a quick wander around if you’re at The Grove anyway. Two stories, there’s even a salon. Anything you’d want in doll size seems to be available ;)
MoreMy 2 daughters, 8 & 10, had so much fun looking through this store. It's expensive, as expected, but has great interactive displays, hair salon for the dolls, and a restaurant (make a reservation). It was fun watching the girls walk through the displays in wonderment. I suggest giving kids a price limit before going into the store. That helped us.
MoreHad strict instructions to visit here by my granddaughters. It's an amazing place, so many dolls and themes and is very well laid out BUT, sooo expensive especially, when using Australian money. II could have had another holiday for what I purchased. :) However, my little darlings were over the moon.
