I live in Lansing, MI. This is the only boat access in the whole Grand River system. It's many miles of river, blocked by numerous dams. It's pitiful. Lansing only has one boat access for a metro area of half a million people. You cannot reach most of the river system, you have to portage by hand, where they have no portage access. So, you can't portage, you will get arrested for trespassing. Not that you want to fish in that sewer. The river is so polluted, you are not supposed to touch the water, let alone catch and eat the fish. Used to be, decades ago, the State planted walleyes, and some actually survived, but they don't stock anymore. Not worth visiting.

Only 4 picnic tables available so it is a small park that caters to boat trailers with about 50 parking places. The Michigan Princess is moored by the boat launch. The MSU and another rowing club have their equipment house and it is a nice place to watch them practice on the river. Not a big area to fish if you don't have a boat, but there is space. No playground for kids, just a grassy area to run and toss a ball or Frisbee.
