From the moment Angela (and her accomplished daughter/assistant) greeted us with a warm smile, we knew we were in for something special. This isn’t just a food tour—it’s a journey through one of Seattle’s vibrant most neighborhoods which is rich history and diverse culture which is shared through food.We explored tucked-away gems and local favorites that I never knew existed (not being a resident of this neighborhood) and never would have found on my own, tasting everything from succulent sweet potato pie from Simply Soulful, to fragrant Ethiopian stews from Zagol, to the most tender, delicious falafel from Minna Mediterranean. Each stop came with stories: of immigration, tradition, innovation, and the people who make this wonderfully diverse neighborhood so special and unique.Angela was extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and you knew she spoke from her experience with the history in the community. If you're a local looking to discover the rich history of this Seattle neighborhood or a visitor wanting to experience more than the tourist traps, this tour is an unique way to savor Seattle’s diverse heart and flavor.

Angela took my work group to several establishments around the CD for the food tasting tour. During the 2.5hrs tour, we loved learning about the restaurants (the owners talked to us at most of them and told us their history) and had wonderful and generous tastings ranging from sweets to savory. She also walked us thru some of the area's history and reinvention that is happening. Highly recommend!
