Named after poet William Cullen Bryant, the site of this historic park has played an important role in New York City. After being officially designated a public park, the site's fortunes rose and fell with the times. A brilliant restoration in the 1990s transformed the space into the beautiful midtown oasis it is today. The park's March hours vary throughout the month, so be sure to check the website before visiting.

MoreThis gorgeous midtown park used to be a no-go area before some visionaries got control of it and cleaned the area up. It is located behind the big Public Library and has a lot of tables and benches. They all fill up in good weather by the many office workers in the area who bring their lunches here. Nice landscaping with a lot of trees. I went to a Christmas fair here once.
MoreBryant Park is one of the most pleasant places in the center of Manhattan for me. Even though it is surrounded by skyscrapers, it feels calm and very cozy. I liked the greenery, the chairs and tables, and the variety of activities throughout the day. You can relax, grab something to eat, people-watch, or simply take a break from the city noise. A fantastic urban park with a strong atmosphere where something is always happening.
MoreLovely little oasis in the concrete jungle, directly behind the library (also a great attraction to see in tandem). Plenty of tables to sit at, and places to grab a coffee or something from a street cart.
