tripadvisorabsolutely lovely park—i came to see the turtles and i was not disappointed. i will definitely be back. don’t miss the little gift shop!
MoreI stopped by for about an hour last Friday. The nature center's indoor center is rather small, but nicely set up. There where a few live animals on display. There was also a small section with a variety of children's nature books. There were also some nature displays using taxidermied animals. I received a trail guide and spent some time walking the trails. There were some turtles on a log in the pond sunning themselves. The forest section was very nice to walk through. The only negative is wherever you are walking the trails, you will hear traffic noise from Highway 16. Overall, this is a nice place to visit.
MoreLovely stretch of nature tucked right inside the city. Great place for families with childern and enough space to share for people without them.
MoreI've lived in Tacoma most of my life and I knew this place as Snake Lake long before all of the current stuff existed. I love what it has to offer and go to this place often. The kids love the play ground outside and all of the fun stuff inside. We also love going on the trails for walks and seeing the turtles on the logs. It's a free fun family friendly activity.
MoreThe trails are decent, if you stay on the main ones. Don't venture to the smaller ones with children as there are homeless spots with needles and bongs on the trail. The viewing point, well don't waste your time. It is a view of the highway and trash. If you stay on the main trails it is very nice. The park is decent and our girls had fun. Inside the center is also nice. They have a small set up for young kids to learn and play pretend. Overall it was a decent outing.
