Westside Tavern on Harrison serves up a burger-tastic creation that keeps me coming back. On my recent visit, Erica and Carolyn's warm welcome and menu-savvy banter set the convivial tone. Erica, a veritable beverage psychic, guided me through an impressive non-alcoholic selection to a crisp Heineken Zero.The star arrived: a rectangular half-pound burger, a meaty monolith atop a hoagie throne. This hand-packed, locally-sourced marvel demanded reverence, even in my substantial 6'4 grasp. Its crisp, irregular edges promised a texture ping-ponging between tender and toothsome. At my request, it came doubled-up: crunchettuce cooling the steamy beef, sharpions slicing through richness, and pickles lending vinegary zing to counter the umami depths. The sturdy, golden-hued roll valiantly wrangled its overstuffed innards, its chew a tactile tango with the succulent interior.Jebediah, the kitchen sorcerer, emerged as I savored this palate-boggling medley. Each bite attested to his fresh-ingredient devotion, flanked by a hillock of satisfyingly crunchy fries.This wasn't just a meal; it was an edible epiphany that had me burger-losophizing about the tyranny of circular patties. Westside Tavern doesn't just serve food; it redefines satisfaction.

Start with a menu…and fire the dark haired waitress. We were a party of 5 middle aged professional women. When we sat down she told us she would provide menus when she got “caught up.” She cleared tables, wiped down the bar, chatted with people sitting at the bar…10 minutes still no menus. One person in our party went up to the bar hoping she guve us menus to look at — Shes refused to give us menus! Telling us she would give them to us when she got “caught up.” We were offended and got up to leave. She shouted at us as we were leaving and encouraged other patrons to clap and shout rude good-byes.I’ve waited tables before, i cant imagine being so rude to customers. I’d like to see her fired.

Great to return to kind of normal. Our first visit. Clean location. Nice outdoor patio. Great, friendly service. Large menu, fast prep, delicious. Open until 1130 (unlike most other places).Live music was a plus, some piano and . Nice tap and can selection as well. Do it.

We stopped there on a road trip that landed us in Olympia for the 4th July weekend. Service was friendly, menu was I retesting. Wings were good (they are BIG wings though) and the Cordon Bleu Bites were outstanding. Two things we didn’t care for, the hamburger was crappy (seemed pre-made and microwaved in its aluminum foil) and one of the guys (not the chef) didn’t bother to wash his hands as he was leaving the restroom. The soundtrack was GREAT! We happen to love really old country music and that’s all they played. Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson. Aside from the nasty dude with his Urin-claws….OT WAS GREAT

Make an actual hamburger. Romaine? That was wilted iceberg from a pre-shredded bag. Onion? Stinky and pre-chopped from a bag. American cheese? not sure what that was. Heirloom tomato? Why lie on your menu. Also, clean the restroom so people trying to eat can't smell the stench.
