As a child of the 1960's and 70's growing up in the eastern foothills of San Diego County, I developed a deep and abiding appreciation for California's native landscapes. As an adult I longed for a solution, a contribution that I could offer, that would address what I perceived as the on-going destruction of our natural open spaces. During my education in ornamental landscape design in 2006, it dawned on me that there was more to garden design than mere aesthetics. This epiphany, coupled with the on-going desire to address urban sprawl, convinced me to commit my efforts to the design of gardens that were water wise, pollinator friendly, and that embraced the unique sense of place California offered. Today I reside in Orange County and run a small business offering landscape design/consultation services throughout the southern California region. I proudly continue to advocate for a more natural approach to how our landscapes are developed and maintained.
