Very close location for kayaking or small craft boating (wake free). Offers some good warm water fishing. As a state wildlife area it has sites specific rules. Included in the rules are license requirements for all users, That said resident one or five day passes are reasonably priced. Not so for nonresident and i.d. will be requested and required. But great close-up local. Some parts of the area are closed while nesting season for the herons.

It is also a faviorite area for canoeing & kayacking, & paddle boarding. It is a nice warm water lake siutable for family, friends, solo just about anything. You will need fishing lic. if you are going to fish.
