It was ok. We had the junior suite. It was roomy enough and the bathroom was fine with a nice shower. We paid $2,500 for 6 nights. It definitely wasn't worth that price. It did not even have a continental breakfast. For that price I was expecting it to be way fancier. The parking was easy, though and the staff was good. Just for 4-5 hundred dollars a night, it wasn't worth it to me.

We stayed here two nights, the first being a very late arrival so the location was wonderful for proximity and ease to the airport. The clerks were always friendly. We had no trouble with noise and the occasional seaplane was cool to hear, not a nuisance. The room itself, not so great. Our room had an odor, probably from the carpets. We got used to it but it's not good. While the bed was quite comfy, the TV was really poor. It did not work well and was hard to turn on/off. We tried to check the remote battery but the lid was screwed shut. The fridge was horribly loud and made strange 'pops' which woke you up. We had to unplug it at night. We can not comment on the a/c as it was not used. The motel has a wonderful adjoining restaurant called Pipers. The motel is actually across the street from the seaplane lake. A large old airplane is on the property so easy to locate.

This property is located directly across the street from Lake Hood and is only about 5 minutes from the Ted Stevens International airport. If you don’t like the sounds of aircraft flying over, it may not be for you. If, like me, you love aviation, it’s very cool! It comes complete with a static display DC-6 out front. Lake Hood is the busiest floatplane base in the world with ~200 operations/day. We were offered a late checkout upgrade (1 pm) for $40, and we took it as our flight departed at 3:15 pm.Honestly, the place looks pretty unimpressive from the outside - something like a mid-70s, two-story, Motel 6. There is a lobby with chairs and a fireplace, and a restaurant is attached (we did not try it).Where this place shines is the room - don’t book late, though, as prices went up significantly (nearly double). It looked as though the bathroom was recently updated. Amenities include a dorm-style refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, toiletries, and television. The queen bed was super comfortable! What really impressed us, though, was the shower - great pressure and plenty of hot water! If you’re looking for a place close to the airport, or to stage from for adventures near Anchorage, this works well!

Stayed here in August and was very disappointed. No elevator and no one to help carry 5 pieces of luggage and camera equipment up several flights of stairs. The rooms were noisy and outdated. Smelled bad. Not a friendly atmosphere. I do not recommend.

What a great place to overnight before or after a Tour. We booked the Alaska Railroad to Denali and overnighted before. Location is minutes away from the Airport with a free shuttle. Bar was fun to watch the seaplanes take off and land.
