I wasn’t expecting much due to such a cheap rate but was pleasantly surprised. The apartment was huge with a separate lounge room, a full kitchen (huge fridge), bathroom, bedroom and a small balcony. Was a little old fashioned with some of the dressing tables and drawers from my Grandma’s era but I actually really liked it. It was clean and well maintained and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and taught us some new things about the Northern Lights. There does some to be some issues with homelessness locally which is sad but we didn’t have any issues.

My boyfriend and I just stayed here this past weekend and the room was amazing! It may not look like much on the outside, but it was a beautiful and well kept room that we stayed in. It was very clean and spacious. The bed was really cozy, as we both agreed that we had not slept that good in a long time. I’m talking straight through the night, no wake ups during the middle of the night at all. We even had a balcony, but please do not close the door all of the way as we locked ourselves out of our room lol. The great thing is that we were able to eat breakfast and dinner close by without driving, as there were places to eat within walking distance. All in all this will be our hotel that we stay at when we visit again.

I have all the nice things to say on this premise. They are just 10 mins walk to town centre, 10 mins walk to Anchorage weekend market, 10 mins walk to Hilton or Sheraton hotel situated in town centre. Why pay top dollars for those hotel when we can pay much cheaper price? More over, we can cook at this premise. We saved a lot and didn't miss out any of the fun while staying there. However, the loud nice from the harbour is kinda annoying. But I don't know if Hilton or Sheraton suffer the same from the noise.

We spent three nights at Uptown Suites. Our apartment type room was second floor and very well appointed with furnishings. The location is a bit on the edge of the downtown area, but we felt quite safe being on second floor, especially since the unit itself required a key for entry. Don't expect an elevator, but if you can do stairs with luggage, you'll be OK. Daily exchange of towels was done efficiently along with basic clean-up of the suite. This part of Anchorage has a fairly high level of city noise throughout the night. Keep the bedroom window closed for summer sleeping comfort. We were without transportation while in Anchorage and found, as hoped, that we were within fairly easy walking distance of the Anchorage museums and amenities desired.such as the AK Railroad depot and Saturday market. Front desk personnel were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Storage for our luggage was provided for the better part of the day before our evening flight. We give Uptown Suites a thumbs up.

This was our first hotel on our Alaska trip. Glad we stayed. It was a great location to the downtown Anchorage area. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade upon check arrival. Ilona was great, she was really nice and gave good local advice. Will definitely be back.
