tripadvisorCan anyone say where the trailhead is? Is it at the end of Sugar Hollow Road? The pictures show the reservoir, so does it start there? Tripadvisor does not link this Thing to Do with any map location, so we're left to guess where this is. Alltrails doesn't have anything about this trail AFAIK.
MoreCame here with my family for the weekend. First off it’s limited parking so be warned. There are multiple hikes. The hike to Blue Hole is about 3 miles round trip. It is a very dog and kid friendly hike as well.
MoreFirst off, I want to thank Tripp’s Advisor for accepting my suggestion to have this trail added. My wife found the information on this trail and we decided to give it a try. Absolutely loved it. It’s a little off the beaten path and not much near by. You will loose cell phone coverage as you draw near. The trails are not well marked but there were several people around who had experience with the park and offered directions and suggestions for where to go and what to see. It’s well worth the trip but make sure you bring water and are prepared for a moderate hike. The longest trail was from the parking area and traveled Northwest towards Skyline drive. It passes a waterfall and crosses a creek a multiple points along the trail. During our visit the creek was mainly dry. The highlight for me was viewing the damn and reservoir. We could not find the path that led directly to it so we cheated and drove beneath the dam, small parking area by it. Last great point is the area is dog friendly. When the creek has more water in it there are several areas where you can get to the creek and splash around. We are looking forward to returning in the spring.
