tripadvisorArrived 30 minutes before My Fair Lady only to be told while trying to park that the performance was postponed. I received an email 4.5 hours later confirming that. This shows the total incompetance of the staff and management that in todays technology they couldn't texted or emailed to save us from the hour drive. It shows they don't care about their patrons. You would think a so called place of higher learning would have a plan for such circumstances. Fact is they don't care. I in good faith reserved very good seats in advance with hard earned money and this is how we are treated. I'll NEVER trust this Venue again and stick to playhouse square in Cleveland.
MoreWe attended a concert here. The concert was a eagles cover band accompanied by the Akron Symphony. The concert was very good. The venue was quite nice. There is plenty of inexpensive parking close to the entrance.
MoreIt would seem impossible that being in the FRONT ROW, CENTER STAGE would result in inaudible sound from the performers; but E J THomas Hall managed to make that happen! We walked out at intermission...and we will NEVER return! If you want a lousy evening...by all means...bu tickets for a performance here. If you want an enjoyable evening; buy tickets just about anywhere else...personally, we recommend the Akron Civic Theater, The Canton Palace Theater and the Lorain Palace theater!
MoreMy son and I attended Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert. The Hall was nice. Convenient parking and it wasn't costly. Small refreshment counter and they served alcoholic beverages.
Morethe shows are pretty entertaining, however the building is not very senior friendly, female bathrooms are down stairs or down elevator. it has a bar in main lobby which is dated and in need of some cleaning. no middle isle in theater, so 50 seat rows at least they are not so tight you cannot squeeze through to get to the end, but if you have middle seats make sure you get your snacks and go to the bathroom before you sit down. show was on Groupon so great price; saw Memphis revival group with Elvis, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee impersonators.
