Derar did an amazing job of planning and organizing the trip. I have traveled to Thailand numerous times, but I still got awed and surprised. Not only we had fun connecting with people within the group, but we were also able to connect with the locals and learn about the culture. There are always things to see and do, but we still had time to rest and really be immersed in the experience. I enjoyed the trip so much I am ready for a second!

It was my first time to participate in a film-making retreat, and the trip far exceeded my expectations. Our guide Derar did an incredible job offering us a wide range of exciting activities - from seeing a local Muay Thai fight to hiking to a jungle village and meeting and playing with elephants! Thanks to his long-time travel experiences joining the trip was a breeze, and at the same time he always managed to hang out with us like a good friend and part of the group. I am grateful for the experiences and friends I made and I am looking forward to the next trip. Highly recommended!

I have traveled quite extensively and have always avoided traveling in groups simply because I do not want to be with a bunch of tourists. I like to experience adventure and things are that are a bit more abnormal. I traveled with Active Wanderlust to Thailand and the trip did not disappoint one bit. Derar made sure that we did not do things that tourists do and showed us things that I probably would have never had scene on my own. We were completely safe and comfortable the whole time. I will definitely be joining Active Wanderlust for many more trips in the future. I met many new friends on my trip, discovered many unforgettable things about Thailand and its culture, and above all, had the time of my life. Active Wanderlust is one of kind. I don't think it gets any better than this.

Derar's local knowledge, contacts and research meant we got to visit places and meet people most tourists would never have the chance to experience. Derar planned the trip to have a perfect mix of activities, culture, nature, people and food. All accomodation and meals were amazing. And even though our group was made up of people from all walks of life, I feel like we haven't just become friends on this trip, but we've become a little community.

The Thailand trip I took with Active Wanderlust was my first time traveling out of the US. I learned a lot and had a blast. I was a little worried before leaving and after I got there I was so glad I came. Everyone I met both in the AW group and the Thailand locals were all super nice. I even got to meet one of my favorite YouTubers. This trip will definitely be one of the highlights that I look back on later in life. I’m excited to start traveling more in the future
