I had the opportunity to take in the tour in March 2021 during Indianapolis' NCAA Basketball Tournament bubble. Guests were masked and had plenty of space to physically distance as we move through the tour. The Catacombs tour itself was very informative and our docent was knowledgeable. It's just crazy to think back 200 years about the intention for this site and then the structure itself going back 135 years. It was great to see a site, back when things were built well from this point of view and glean more about the architectural styles. This space has so much opportunity! I appreciate the tour beginning and ending in the Indianapolis City Market's Market House to get even more history about the campus and the opportunity to support local small businesses, I grabbed a smoothie from Twenty Two Juice before the tour and stuck around after the tour for some Indiana craft beer at Tomlinson Tap Room.

Very interesting! Our docent Mary was wonderful and gave us lots of fun insights as to how the catacombs were used .

I highly recommend the City Market Catacombs tour. Marcia was our guide and her passion for history came through while sharing stories of the long-hidden ruin beneath City Market's Whistler Plaza. Indiana Landmarks has done a tremendous job preserving Indiana structures. One thing you need to know is that the temperature in the catacombs was warm not cold even though our outdoor temp was only about 80-82°F. This tour tends to sell out. Thankfully, we ordered our group tickets earlier. I suggest you do the same.

I lived in Indy for 37 years and never knew about the catacombs. When I saw an ad for them, I knew I had to see them on my next visit to Indy! It was exciting to see them and hear the history. I would definitely recommend this tour!
