tripadvisornighttime desk clerk had no personality. Did not recognize platinum level member Coffee bar was sparse. Tea supplies were not refreshed during the day. Breakfast items were microwaved prepackaged sandwiches and expensive. The bar was serviced by the front desk clerk, waiting for service was long. Dog barking when doors closed. Pool filtration was not working. Leaves, dead bugs and live frogs were in the pool.
MoreI am submitting this email as a formal complaint regarding our stay at Aloft Shenandoah – The Woodlands Area, Texas. For two consecutive attempts, we reported persistent noise disturbance and visual discomfort in/around our room. Despite informing the front desk twice, the issue was not resolved — and even more concerning, our request for a room change was denied. This is unacceptable. We paid for comfort, rest, and proper hospitality — not to be ignored or forced to tolerate ongoing disturbance. A hotel that claims professionalism must demonstrate it not only through words, but through action. In this situation, no such action was taken.
MoreMy first time staying at this particular Marriott-owned hotel. It was a bit easy to get to, although I almost missed their entrance to the hotel’s driveway. Why I was thinking that the marquee would be actually on the building; I don’t know. Anyway, check-in, and check-out was quick and easy with no problems. Staff was courteous and friendly. The room itself seemed like it was a bit small. It was also a bit warm, but that was fixed by turning down the a/c to a comfortable temperature of 71 degrees Fahrenheit. The bed was comfortable. And, I had no problem sleeping. The shower was decent. Amenities were supplied by Dry Bar, which I didn’t know that they provided hair and body products. I might buy some of their products. Speaking about drying my hair, the provided hair dryer was awesome even at low setting. Why only four stars? First thing was the unusual dark hallway. I understand the notion of “being green,” but the hallway felt unsafe to me especially arriving back late at night. (I attended a concert at the Pavilion.) Second thing was the little nuances concerning the room. There was a little dent in one part of the floor near the entrance. And, the toilet paper holder was very loose from its place in the wall. All-inall it’s just basically wear and tear. By the walls in the bedroom area are meant to be; it’s art. Would I stay at this brand again? Maybe, maybe not.
MoreHotel was nice. I would’ve given it four stars except for a few things. The walls are very thin. The people next-door to us had a dog that wouldn’t stop barking between 5:30 AM and 8 AM. It was like the dog was in our room. The sliding door to the toilet and shower area didn’t provide much privacy. And there was no light over the vanity.
MoreI am in town for work. I have a new job and this my first trip. I made a mistake on my reservation. I was concerned I would be without a room. Clarissa Lara helped me get into a last minute cancellation when no other hotels had availability. The fact that she was concerned for me and did what she could to help me goes a long way as a customer. Thank you Clarissa!
