tripadvisorOverall I enjoyed my stay. The boutique hotel is nicely appointed, clean and well kept. Staff was professional and generally helpful. If you rent a car or drive, be prepared for steep overnight parking fees. I paid the equivalent of at least one additional night’s stay in parking fees, which stung. Hopefully, the hotel will implement some sort of discounted overnight parking for guests in the future. There’s no room service option also if that’s important to you.
MoreI came with my daughter for a mother-daughter getaway, and we had a terrific time in New Orleans. Unfortunately, I am disappointed to give this hotel only two stars. The location and physical facilities are excellent and easily deserving of five stars. However, the service experience fell far below expectations. Most of the staff seemed disengaged and, at times, openly unpleasant. One morning at 7:30 a.m., when I went downstairs for coffee, members of the cleaning crew were seated on the lobby couches, wet mops resting on the furniture, while loudly watching a television show on their phones. This created an unwelcoming atmosphere. The bar was consistently empty, which may reflect the service experience there as well. The bartenders came across as surly, impersonal, and uninterested in hospitality. At the front desk, the gentlemen working there appeared more focused on their phones than on guests. When we asked for assistance obtaining the key to the minibar in the shopping area, they seemed inconvenienced and exasperated. This property has tremendous potential because the location and facilities are terrific. With better management attention to service culture, professionalism, and guest engagement, it could be an outstanding hotel.
MoreThe location is great when attending French Quarter Festival. Also, very close to the express bus from the airport. I would not recommend this hotel for families or groups of friends. The glass showers look classy, but would be quite awkward if sharing your room with friends or if you have tween to teen kids. The sliding barn doors on the bathrooms may fit well with the hotel decor, but they leave a big gap which lacks privacy. The breakfast was acceptable but not what you would expect from a hotel in this price range. They alternated between room temperature pancakes and waffles. Everything else was cold: pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit. It would have been nice to have fruit that wasn't sliced in case you want to grab it and go. Finally, be warned about the credit card fee that is not noted until you are long gone and receive your receipt via email. The only reason it get 4 stars is because they have a very helpful staff and the bottled water is much appreciated in the New Orleans heat.
MoreGreat location and fairly quiet. Room was small. Bathroom door is a barn door that leaves a gap that a toddler can get through. It leaves no bathroom privacy. No fan in the bathroom. Shower water pressure was weak. There’s no housekeeping which is horrible when you count on it- this explains why there is no privacy door knob hanger to use. The free breakfast is nothing more than a continental with yogurt and bagels which is good but not great. Elevators are slow.
MoreGreat boutique hotel. Wonderful location. Friendly staff. Only thing lacking is the breakfast but lots of restaurant options nearby. Would definately recommend if you are looking for another option from large chain hotels.
