Trumbull and Porter Hotel Hotel

This hotel in its previous incarnations has seen plenty of travelers since it first opened as a Holiday Inn back in the mid-20th Century. The well-known brand then sold the property and it survived as an independent hotel until it was finally transformed into what it is today, a boutique accommodation. Located in the West Side Industrial District, the room design is contemporary, with clean lines, modern fixtures and in fact, many of furniture pieces are Michigan made. The hotel also aims to forge a bond with other community businesses by using bikes from Detroit Bikes, beer from Batch Brewing and coffee from Crazy Fresh. Even if you are not a guest at the hotel, T&P hosts events and parties for all of Detroit as well.

We booked the whirlpool suite at almost $400.. firstly they really do charge you $10 to park in their parking lot. I really don’t know why? There is no alternative transportation? So the room was run down. I’m not sure why the tile was even very outdated when this hotel isn’t incredibly old. It smelled of mold, the towels hurt our skin to dry off with. They advertise robes and gave us 1. lol. We get home and the mold smell spread to our luggage.. everything and the luggage was hosed down and washed and dried. I have never had to do that before. Here we are I guess. The tub was advertised as a larger tub and was a 1 person tub… I whirlpool suite tub seats two not 1. The jets we were weak…. We feel taken advantage of and we didn’t leave happy and it was my birthday.

This place is a joke!!! First:I booked online! No where online it says when u arrive there will be a $150 holding fee! On the way to the room it looks like a horror movie because the hallways are very dark IN THE DAYTIME!! Open the door it’s the size of a jail cell very tiny! NO CARPET SO I could Not go without shoes in the room. Then I asked for a set of towels being there were one bath towel in the room. The staff gave me 10 face towels! While getting dressed for our event there were bugs in the room earwigs to be exact! Horrible! I wanted to change rooms but they did not answer my call so I went to the front desk, no one was busy and they just didn’t answer. Very poor customer service. Before leaving I made sure I would get my deposit back ask for receipt that they could not provide!!! Last straw, I had to PAY FOR PARKING AT A HOTEL I PAID FOR STAYING AT!! MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE!! NO U CANNOT! I WILL NEVET COME TO THIS PLACE I ADVISE YOU ALL NOT TO AS WELL.!!!

We had are Coleman family reunion 23 July 26 - 25 July 26... Worst stay ever!!! Room was definitely not up to par, worst than a college dorm room. The AC system was noisy and the walls are paper thin! The only positive side of the stay was the the incredible staff and customer service!!!

Friendly staff. Clean room. Tub a little slippery. There was a gas smell in the building. One elevator was down which made for a long walk for someone with mobility issues. Bar/restaurant has asian themed cuisine other than burger and sandwich. Had wings with asian glaze it was mediocre.Hotel in business district next to post office

No shower door, so the bathroom was a swamp. Mold on the shower caulking. 1 block walk to the elevator, then another block walk to the room. Resteraunt had awesome sounding strawberry French toast, till u get to it was buns. Who does that? Went to Bob Evans instead. Door that was unlocked when we came in at 10pm, was locked at 10am. So had to backtrack another half block. At 331 dollars, would expect better than motel 6. Should have stayed at the Wyndham for 50 bucks more.
