Originally a part of a 250-acre (100 hectares) estate, the Historic Joseph Horton House is located in New Hackensack, east of state route 376. Built in the eighteenth century, the country house was a farm owned by one family for nearly a hundred years, before it was sold in parts by eventual buyers. The house is available for private tours by appointment only.
