tripadvisorI stayed here during the Texas Bar Exam. Upon entering my room, there was a very strong cigarette smoke odor. It was immediately noticeable and clearly inconsistent with a non-smoking property.I went to the front desk right away. The employee working that evening was apologetic and did what she could — she provided a Lysol spray — but the hotel was fully booked, so I was unable to switch rooms. Unfortunately, the smoke smell was too strong for spray to make a difference. As anyone taking the bar exam knows, rest and focus matter. It was disappointing to have to stay in a room that smelled like smoke during such an important week. The hotel later offered a $20 adjustment on a $141/night stay, which did not feel proportionate to the issue.I hope management takes this seriously and implements stronger room inspection procedures, especially during major event weeks when guests are relying on a clean, properly maintained environment.
MoreMy partner and I arrived to this hotel after making reservations in February. We were confirmed for the total of 129$. After arriving we were asked why we were in town we said to see a concert. The manager (Amanda) then asked for my government ID and I showed her my badge. I then said my boyfriend is military and she said we will not honor this rate as we are over sold. However, if you want to pay 666$ you can have the room. The couple behind they offered the room for 699$. The priced gauged and wouldn't let anyone pay the rates that were confirmed via Marriott. Not only was the hotel not honoring what military / govt paid they were extremely rude. There was no hotel to rent from in 45 miles and we drove 2.5 hours. We had to drive home at midnight after the concert due to the hotel not honoring their own room rate. When I reached out to Marriott they said they have the right to not honor the rate even if confirmed if we are not in town for work. Had we lied we would have got the rate. This is so unfortunate that they would do this to loyal customers and military.
MoreThis new hotel facilities are excellent, but you already see the signs of deterioration due to bad management,The standard breakfast items are there and again the poor management is evident. The eggs are so dry and powdery that you wonder how they managed to make them so inedible. They also charge for parking in the middle if a massive shopping area?
MoreI stayed in Waco South for the past two months and paid just below 5 grand. When I asked to checkout at 6.00 pm (because I work until 5) they told me I had to pay for an extra night because the last possible checkout was at 12.00. The manager could overrule that but wasn't in yet (they told me she usually would). I called two hours later but then the receptionist didn't let me speak to her so I had to drive back to checkout in time. The room was ok but the toilet was clogged twice. Had to ask a dozen of times for a new dishwater tablet because they forgot, as well to refill the soap. Bedsheets had (i guess) lipstick on it when i came in. Could have been a great hotel but lack of cleaning service and compassion...
MoreBEWARE inconsistent and do not put guest safety first. Tornados and golf ball size hail were predicted for our arrival date the night before. We waited until the morning of, as forecasts change. We called and DeLana at the front desk said they would cancel without penalty due to weather. We said we wanted to wait and see if the storms would blow through in time for us to drive in. She said let us know. A tornado watch was issued at 1:35pm to last until 9pm. We called the hotel at 2:28pm to cancel. DeLana and Susan both refused to cancel all of our 3 reserved rooms stating we were told we had to cancel by 2pm - which was not true. We asked to speak to a manager and were put on hold for more than an hour and nobody came to the phone. Marriott corporate stated there was nothing they could do.
