tripadvisorI recently stayed at Tru in Baltimore for a basketball tournament. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming-especially Nikki and Marquitta who went above and beyond for our entire stay. Check-in was a breeze, they provided great local recommendations, and were incredibly friendly. They took the time to stop what they were doing and greet me by name each time I walked in, frequently asking how our stay was and if we needed anything to improve our stay. The breakfast at Tru was delicious and a huge plus during busy mornings. Fresh Lavazza coffee through the day, along with tea and hot chocolate was definitely appreciated. Parking right across the street made it easy to head in/out around a busy tournament schedule. While the walls were thin, the beds were very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again due to the welcoming and friendly staff that made it feel like a five-star hotel.
MoreClean and new! Refreshing appearance, and stylish. They chose viny plank flooring, which will stay clean as the hotel ages. Would stay here again.
MoreClean rooms, great location close to everything. The hotel itself is clean and their staff are nice as well. Stayed there twice and will definitely comeback again.
MoreReasonably priced hotel on the edge of Little Italy in downtown Baltimore. Rate includes buffet breakfast. Easy self parking across the street in public parking garage ($20-25 for 24 hours - cheaper than higher end hotels). Our room on top (8th) floor was clean and quiet. Easy walking distance (2-4 blocks, 5-10 min) to Little Italy restaurants. Two blocks from very nice, sizable bakery cafe that is open all day, bakes breads and pastries in-house, and has plenty of seating.
MoreWe've stayed in other hotels in this area before, but this is the one we'll go back to from now on. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They were also nice enough to let us know that weekend parking (Fri-Mon? Sat-Tues? not sure) in the garage directly across the street is dirt cheap if paid directly to the garage, providing an additional cost advantage over other hotels. The location is ideal, roughly equal distance (and a relatively short walk) to both Fells Point and the Inner Harbor. The room was modern, clean, and nice (even if not huge), and we enjoyed the free breakfast. The common area includes a game area, enough seating for families, and several office nooks for business travelers using laptops etc.
