tripadvisorI have been coming to Reeves Family Farm for 3 years now. It is no doubt one of my favorite places to purchase produce. I am an avid canner (for my family only) and I buy okra, pickling cucumbers and tomatoes (full cartons) all summer. I find their prices to be reasonable for the kind quality you can get….. please don’t EVEN think about comparing this to what you buy in the large supermarkets. There seems to be a misconception that these farm stores are cheaper. They aren’t. What you get in return is some of the BEST tasting produce you will ever eat. They also sell their own canned goods and a variety of homemade frozen meals which are tasty and convenient especially on those nights where we work late. Go visit this place out for yourself. An added bonus…. their whole family works in the store and their kids will help you take your produce to the car if you need some extra help. They do it with a smile and a very pleasant attitude!!!!
MoreWell, the Facebook site for this farm makes it seem like the best around. People all seem to rave about it, and we figured we just had to go. We went on a Friday afternoon, and we were greeted at the entrance by a large white dog with burs all over it which broke my heart. Their lunches were already sold out, no real problem, as we just wanted to see what the lunch looked like and possibly return earlier in the day at a later time. The produce looked good, although somewhat high priced. The green tomatoes were $1.25 each which seems high priced to me so I didn't buy any. The baked goods were tempting, but I had no idea how long they had been out, and freshness is a thing for me. Perhaps some samples would have helped. We purchased a watermelon for $10; but upon arriving home and cutting it open, we discovered it had dark red spots all over it and seeds that looked rotten. The potatoes we purchased weren't spectacular either. For a place that brags about the freshness of its products, we just didn't find that to be the case. Others must know exactly what to buy there because the parking lot was full when we left.
