Beware of the National, Enterprise, Alamo Car Rental Company in Croatia. They rented me a car that had 85,000 KM on it. The car broke down with a broken clutch half way between Split and Dubrovnik. It is bad enough that we waited on the roadside for 4 hour to get a replacement car. Then they charged me $3400 to replace the clutch and pay the towing charge. Really! The clutch was glitchy from the time we began to drive it. I did not cause the damage. This seems to be the business model for this company (Auto Benussi is the name of the local agency). So far, National/Enterprise USA has not provided any support, even though as an Executive Emerald Aisle member, I rented through their site. I still hope to get an acceptable resolution to this matter and will update if so. Until then, I urge anybody needing to rent a car in Croatia to go through another company.

Don’t rent from the National, Alamo or Enterprise car rental at BTV - unless you have THREE hours to spend waiting in line! They only have one poor guy working and hundreds of people needing cars - worst I’ve ever seen

I paid over $2,000 to rent a luxury SUV at National Zurich. 2 weeks after returning the car with absolutely not a spot of damage they sent me a bill for over $1,000 for damage and sent me photos of a couple tiny scratches. Those scratches were no doubt on the car before my rental. I have complained to Bationsl several times but no one cares. Avoid the Zurich office. They are scammers.

Flew into PHX, with a car reserved. The Agent was rude and very short with me. I commented on this and she canceled my reservation and told me to leave. She wouldn't give me her name but this Aug 29th around noon, Dark hair about 5' 6. I will never even consider National again.

I wanted to share my pleasure and delight at the experience with John at the MSP location. I had been a little frazzled with trying to locate the rental car location within the terminal, and finally found it. John noticed that I'm a little bit taller than most people, but his friendly smile and quick little joke about my small SUV rental made me laugh and put me immediately at ease. John offered to put me in a more suitable vehicle for my height, and I really cannot say enough wonderful things about him. There are moments in this world where you wonder how or why you encountered such an individual, and I know that I will be forever grateful and reminiscent of a five minute conversation with him about his passion for customer service, what brings him joy in life, and the ways he works to make a difference in the lives of people he encounters.
