Craig Hetrick has over forty years of experience teaching private percussion lessons. He has been the Assistant Principal Timpanist and Percussionist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for over twenty-nine years and Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Butler University for twenty-five years. In addition, he was a protege of Jim Chapin and specializes in drum set, teaching all styles from jazz and chart reading to Top 40 and rock and roll. A dedicated, passionate, and patient teacher, Craig takes the time and care to completely customizes each and every lesson to the student's interests, goals, and skill level. Craig has taught students ranging in age from 10 to 60 and in skill level from beginners to advanced students and professionals preparing for collegiate or professional auditions. Many of his advanced students have been accepted at prestigious music schools throughout the country and/or have gone on to professional careers in orchestras, military bands, as drum set players and as school and private teachers as well.
