This statue of Edgar Allan Poe at the present location in the University of Baltimore campus was many years in the making. Although it was commissioned in 1911, various mishaps led to a ten year delay before its installation in Wyman Park. It came to the current location in 1983. The small park features seats and picnic tables and cooling trees. This is definitely a hidden gem about 15 minutes northwest of the Poe House/museum. If you visit the Lyric Theatre, the statue is next door.
