tripadvisorMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Gilded Age Tour. Firstly - a self guided app-based tour works for us. We are never on time for stuff and I dont need stress on holiday. so thank you. The content was fun and interesting and educational. As a New Yorker who moved away years ago - you brought life to buildings I often walked by and always wondered about and you reinforced why studying history is important.
MoreI recently took a different audio tour by a different creator/app and was underwhelmed: the app was buggy, I frequently lost track of where I was supposed to go, the narrator wanted me to enter shops that were closed...Then I found out about VoiceMap and tried out TellBetter's SoHo tour, and it was the opposite: the app itself worked great and was designed in a way that made sure I spent all my time looking at the world around me, instead of staring at my phone. The narrator's stories and the production quality were both amazing. The narrator was also superb at giving directions, constantly telling me things like walk with Broadway on your left, making the tour easy to follow. The fact that the app automatically triggered the audio when I was near the next location made everything feel seamless.I'm really looking forward to taking more of TellBetter's tours, as well as exploring other content creators on VoiceMap.
MoreDefinitely the most interesting tours I’ve done in any city, full of really fascinating stories and history I never heard before. Not the same old buildings and names and dates, but STORIES and secret history. Really well put together, high audio quality and the app works really smoothly so I never felt lost. Highly recommend as a thing to do to learn more about New York as a visitor or just to explore (I’ve lived here for years and learned so much I never knew before).
MoreWell-produced, fun and informative. Just what we needed to get oriented and then further enjoy visiting Soho for the weekend. Highly recommend!
MoreAn experienced user of walking tours, I tried out TellBetter’s podcast tour of SoHo yesterday based solely on its description. The GPS features make it easy to use. The sound effects and storytelling by the narrator and background participants bring the historical tour to life - much more entertaining than in-person guides. The SoHo guide ended near Washington Square. Finding myself with a few extra hours late afternoon today, I picked up where I left off and took the Washington Square tour.
