My husband and I went to John Ford Park on a Wednesday afternoon and almost had the park to ourselves. The 85 acre park has lots of big trees that are trimmed high. The park has a disc golf course, picnic tables, benches, baseball field, playground equipment, an old train, hiking trails and fishing pier on Cross Lake. Half of the trails are the park road. The park has two sections. We almost missed the smaller east side by the lake. The park is free.
