The Baymont off Coho Street was built in 2020 and officially opened in December of that year. It has 85 rooms across four floors and is conveniently located near the Beltline, making access very easy for travelers. You would think a hotel that is only about six years old would look and feel relatively new, especially considering it was originally marketed as a modern, custom-designed boutique hotel. Unfortunately, that was not at all what we experienced. The rooms were relatively clean overall, but we noticed several small things that, if left unaddressed, will only continue to get worse. There was noticeable calcium and grime buildup around the bathroom, along with a slight smell that we couldn't quite identify. The toilet was also clearly installed with the door clearance as an afterthought—the toilet had to be positioned at an angle just to allow the bathroom door to function properly. The hallways were another disappointment. The color scheme is, at best, questionable—think Fisher-Price—with TVs throughout that appeared to serve no purpose and were simply turned off and holes randomly throughout. The ceiling also showed obvious signs of what appeared to be a past or ongoing leak. Then there was the elevator. It seemed to have a mind of its own, and at one point the door wouldn't open. Being stuck in an elevator is unsettling under any circumstances, but add three kids to the situation and the fear factor goes up considerably. The pool area was probably the biggest disappointment. The pool is very small and appeared to be lacking in both cleaning and maintenance. There was visible grime around the exposed perimeter of the pool, and the water looked hazy. The bathroom door in the pool area was completely off and unusable. Rather than being repaired or removed, it appeared that someone had simply decided to leave it that way.The pool area also appeared to have a ventilation and humidity issue, which would explain the presence of a dehumidifier. The hot tub had noticeable foam buildup as well, which was concerning given the overall condition of the area. The handicap chair/lift was also broke and clearly coming out of the concrete support. As far as the complimentary breakfast goes, I'd give it a 2/5. They did have the traditional waffle maker along with the expected basic breakfast offerings. However, after seeing the lack of care and maintenance throughout other areas of the building, you can't help but wonder about the condition of the kitchen and food-preparation areas behind the scenes. What's particularly disappointing is that this is not an old hotel. It opened in 2020 and has reportedly had a renovation listed in 2023, yet the property already gave us the impression that routine upkeep and maintenance are being overlooked.Ultimately, the biggest issue seems to be the overall lack of attention to maintenance and upkeep. A relatively new hotel should not already have this many noticeable issues. At the rate the property appears to be aging, it's hard to imagine what it will look like another six years from now.For a hotel this new, there is simply no reason for it to already look and feel this neglected. In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend staying here, and I wouldn't stay here again.

I believe this is the third time we’ve been at a Baymont by WYNDHAM hotel. We truly believe this room that we were checked into last night was never cleaned after the previous clients. There were only three pillows on the bed, no Kleenex in the Kleenex box, no face cloths, no hand lotion, no shampoo. No tea as well.We were to happy to have a bed, but that’s about it.Carpets were torn, no tea at the breakfast bath buffet, not even hot water. This place was a disgrace, and I’m embarrassed to say that I stayed there. There were even dental floss picks on the floor in the elevator as well as crumbs. Horrible. Breakfast …was a poor excuse for an included breakfast.Stay away.

My room was terrible. It smelled like someone urinated all over the floors. Both the room with the beds and the bathroom. I called the front desk and reported this. The front desk person came with a spray bottle containing some sort of disinfectant and spray the floors. Withing 20 minutes the smell was back. I will never return to this hotel. I did not choose this hotel since it was a business trip where the reservations were made by the my place of business. I also informed the organization of my experience and was informed that they will not use this hotel any more.

My tv was broken, the toilet paper holder was missing, the towel rack was broken, the room number kept falling off, the rack in fridge was missing, the bedding was dirty and there was used condom wrappers in the room. No one came to clean my room or fix my tv the entire time I was there no matter how many times I complained. I was told housekeeping was Mexican and didn’t understand and that they would relay again what was wrong with my room to have it fixed. I wrote a list of everything down and the attendant took a picture and said he would share it. I wasn’t even offered a discount.

We have always experience wonderful service at Baymont Inn. I would not stay at the 2810 Coho St., Madison WI, again. It is not a friendly well cared for establishment.
