This is an amazing tour, not to be missed if you can get to it! Even if you don’t own a Toyota, it shows you what Toyota is all about and how a car is produced and assembled It’s FREE!Do make reservations online tho cuz hours vary. You only have cell phones in the visitor center before the tour. They will show you where the lacquer are in. You carry the key with you on the tour. No pictures about in the factory. Also, no bags or purses on the tour, again put in locker.Bring your ID. Everyone and I mean, everyone was super friendly. In the visitor center there are some games to play and a model of the factory. In the first car they produced, the Camry 1988. You will watch a short movie about Toyota and then about Safety. Then you will go in the factory and board a very comfortable tram. There is a driver and there is a narrator. It’s about a 45 minute tour. You get to see many aspects of the making of a Toyota, and different kinds. Many of the workers will wave to you while they are working. You get to see a lot of robots in action. For Toyota … safety, cleanliness, efficiency and friendliness are key. I had a lot more respect for Toyota after the tour and it was very interesting. My only caveat is there is no gift store and they did not give you a souvenir. It would be nice if you got a little keychain or a pin or a pen, something to commemorate your visit. I definitely would go again

We have done several of these auto plant tours from the various car makers and see some very similar things. However, we do find these interesting so we continue to go when we have the opportunity. This Toyota tour in Georgetown, KY was great! The staff was very pleasant and you can tell that safety is of utmost importance at Toyota. You start at the Experience Center and can see their displays while you wait. Photos are allowed here and they have the first Toyota built from their plant on display. You will watch a short video and then ride a tram while listening to the guide through the headphones you wear. They also have lockers for you to leave your purses and/or cell phones since they are not allowed inside the plant. We enjoyed this tour, the people there, and the displays. It lasted about 45 minutes. We were glad to be able to do a tour later in the day (5:30 pm) since that gave us time to travel there that day.

I have been wanting to tour the Toyota Manufacturing facility in Georgetown. It was FANTASTIC! About 1.5 hours on board a tramway, we saw cars produced from sheet metal to driving off. I have seen manufacturing sites from Ford to GM, from Caterpillar to Chrysler. I was most impressed with the ergonomic design for helping team members do their job. Our guide, Darrin, really knew the details about how the plant operated. The question and answer session was so informative. Schedule your tour! You won’t be sorry!

Unfortunately, when I called for reservations I was told they are no longer doing the tours for general public, only for educational groups. We were really looking forward to this tour.
