tripadvisorThis was my second time staying here since my normal Tempe hotels were very expensive this weekend. I felt better about it last time I stayed. As others have said, the room doesn’t have enough lighting, especially by the bathroom sink. I found it very dark, which I’m not comfortable with. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but I think if they upgraded the lighting and maybe cleaned/fixed the elevator situation, it would make it a better stay for guests.
MoreTo begin w this review Id like to say that I felt discriminated the moment I stepped foot into this hotel. The lady that assisted me was assisting a customer checking them in. When It was my turn the lady sighed and completely took the smile off her face. I didn’t think to much of it because Its hot outside but when I asked to check in she continued to say she just booked the last room and to come back later at 4.. It was 1:30pm when I arrived from Los Angeles driving 6 hours.. After also paying for early check in.. I had no problem w coming back it was the fact that I felt discriminated since I wasn’t not of her race. Another complaint I had was the towels.. Im happy I noticed whatever the red stain was but i refused to use that towel w what could have been someones blood.. Also please clean your coffee machines in the room.. I couldn’t make myself coffee because of the white stains it hair inside…
MoreWe first stayed on ‘day use’ before our flight. When our flight was cancelled, we booked back in for a few days because we enjoyed the hotel so much. We stayed in the ground floor rooms with courtyard view and easy access through courtyard into the pool. The staff are super friendly and I will give special mention to Kevin Granier & Angela Williams for their help during our stay in finding us the right rooms & facilitating late check out. The hotel is right in the middle of downtown & convenient for cafes & restaurants within walking distance, and being close to public transportation options. Thanks all for a super stay.
MoreHotel was very dirty.Pool had a towel and a rope in it for our entire stay. There were a dirty old pair of shoes and docks that looked like they were from a homeless person beside the pool for the 5 days we stayed there. The furniture was damaged, filthy with dirt and bird droppings. We rested housekeeping multiple times for our room but they only once serviced the room.Overall bad experience, I would stay at Holiday Inn or Best Western instead, they are cleaner and include breakfast, here it was $21 for a coffee and pre packaged sandwich
MoreI have stayed at the Tempe Mission Palms for the past 17 years so I my opinion may be jaded. The TMP was sold out during my recent stay. Sonesta SelectPros: convenient within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. Freindly staff particularly day shift front desk person ( didn't recall her name ). Very personable. Room was clean.Cons: Room was dark ( decor and lighting particularly above the sink). No restaurant or bar. They did have a continental breakfast in the morning. Elevators beat-up.
