tripadvisorNice winding walk in downtown Bend. The access to nature within a city is very refreshing. The history plaques along the sidewalk were very nice and interesting to learn where the town and the park were started.
MoreI visited Riverbend Park two times during my weeklong vacation in Bend in June. This park is a good central point for several recreational activities. The park consists of a beautiful paved path on both sides of the Deschutes river. Several interpretive signs and artworks are installed along the walk. The park has a large lawn for recreation and games. A large shelter is available for group picnics. I rented a kayak for two hours from the seasonal kayak/paddleboard rental booth which was set up on the grass. One can spend any amount of time in Riverbend park. I certainly enjoyed my walk along the river and kayaking on the calm waters of the river. This is a beautiful community park. A dog park is also a part of this park.
MoreState of the art dog park, fully fenced, and convenient to the public. All cities should be so lucky to have a parks department as well funded as the one in Bend,
MoreIn remote locations you might think there's no need for a dog park, but some dogs (terriers for example) are awful off leash. This is a welcome exception in a remote location
MoreWe met at the dog park, and started up the trail from there. We had 3 dogs between us, so of course, we met at the dog park. What I love about the dog park, they right be the river, (It's on the Deschutes River), the have an off leash way to get your dogs in the river. Everybody takes their dogs to the river to cool off.
