tripadvisorThe Mr. and I, along with our friends, S & M, took the waterfall tour on Sunday. Our guide Savannah (I hope I spelled that right) obviously took pride in the job of being our tour guide. Savannah did an excellent job of navigating the traffic and with designated parking spots we were able to simply step off the shuttle and appreciate the magnificent scenery. The tour makes five stops along the Historic Columbia River Highway, which was the first scenic highway built in the USA. We got to see Vista House @ Crown Point, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Horsetail Falls, and Multnomah Falls. We enjoyed the two and a half hour tour immensely!
MoreWe decided to take the waterfall tour through Sasquatch Shuttle. It saved a lot of hassle of driving especially since part of the historic road was closed. We also did not have to hassle with parking at Multnomah Falls. Kevin was an excellent guide. I would highly recommend this tour.
MoreEntire staff was professional and friendly. Directions were clear and all our questions were answered fully.Tyler, our guide, was exemplary- knowledge of the history, geography and geology of the area was superb. One of our party was confined to a wheel chair and Tyler was stellar in how he handled the added time and work required to accommodate this. The hyldrolic lift mechanism on the van failed halfway through the tour - Tyler had to use the manual override pump to get the wheelchair into the bus - he took this in stride and did not let it fluster him.Two notes for those confined to wheelchairs:1. Bridal Veil Falls was impossible for the all terrain power wheelchair - we had to put it in manual mode and carefully push it. The falls can only be viewed IF you are able to climb a series of irregular and steep steps at the end of the path. If you are wheelchair bound, consider skipping this stop. 2. Latourell Falls - the path to the top is composed of stairs and not accessible. The path to a good view of the bottom of the falls is accessible with one caveat. The beginning of the path is very steep and may present more of a challenge or hazard than you are comfortable with. Everyone had fun on the trip and we would do it again given what we know
MoreI highly recommend taking The Waterfall Loop Narrated Tour. It was so nice to sit back, relax, and take in the beautiful waterfalls and scenery while someone else did the driving. At several of the “less popular” waterfalls, people approached our shuttle looking for a ride because there was no parking available at Multnomah Falls. Even if you don’t take the Waterfall Loop, consider their park and ride shuttle. Both the shuttle van and the buses are wheelchair accessible and everyone was very accommodating with our disabled son. Keenan, our driver, was especially friendly. He grew up in the area, knows so much history of the area, and has a genuine excitement for the waterfalls and the surrounding area.
MoreTyler did a great job as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the gorge and the entire area. We had enough time at each waterfall to explore and be back on the shuttle. We would recommend this tour
