tripadvisorMy daughter and I stayed at this hotel on Saturday night, 9/27. After I checked in at 4:15 pm, I called a staff member’s attention to three issues:-The non-smoking room (113) smelled of cigarette smoke. He kindly offered to spray while I was out for dinner--and that did seem to be an improvement when I returned around 9:30 pm.-The carpet has several prominent stains. I found this off-putting.-The wall over the headboard is bare, but has a lot of odd, sticky-looking spots on it. That is also very off-putting.I was told that no other rooms were available.Around 10 pm my daughter was startled by a large brown bug scurrying in the bathroom. She thought it was a cockroach. I saw it only briefly (perhaps it was a centipede) before it disappeared under the vanity. The person at the front desk said he would make a note of it; he also apologized and repeated that he would move us to a different room if one were available.I had hoped that making a note of the nighttime bug meant that an adjustment would be applied to my bill. When I checked out in the morning, however, the rate ($235.91 total) was unchanged.I tried to call the manager’s attention to these issues (via repeated phone calls, two email messages, and one letter) and requested a partial refund for our one-night stay, but she refused to respond. One staff member told me that the hotel will soon be renovated.
MoreI was a bit skeptical with the reviews and the exterior of the hotel but was pleasantly surprised. This of course isn’t the ritz, but for the price and convenient location, it was a decent stay. The exterior does not to justice for the interior. The lobby was large and bright and updated. The check in attendant was great and our room was surprisingly large. It could use a bit of updating but the bed and pillows were extremely comfy and the room was very clean. Very happy with our stay before our concert.
MoreVery clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating. Excellent price. The rooms were larger than expected . Parking easy and they offered to help us with parking close to the key Bank center. If you want cheap and cheerful, this is it.
MoreI spent a night here in Sept 2024 as a stop on a road trip, heading home. I did not have a reservation in advance and was happy to be able to get a room. The room I was put in, Room 109, had absolutely FILTHY furniture and rugs. I can't believe that any property can stay in business with furniture I would be embarrassed to try to sell in a garage sale. Here's a picture of the stained chair - just disgusting. I went to the front desk and kindly asked to be put in another room, I told them that I just couldn't stay there. They wanted to know what the issue was. I didn't want to say it in front of other guests checking in, the front desk personnel did come out of the office to hear my concern, and they did move me to a room. The second room was also run down, but much better. If I had been put in that room first, I probably wouldn't have complained but just figured you get what you pay forIncidentally, I see another review that also shows the horrible furniture, with a note from management that they are sorry for the issues the guest complained about. But obviously they did not care to fix it, because I was subjected to the same experience.
MoreI spent one night here on a solo drive from Vermont to Ohio. I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the building and the neighborhood surrounding it, but once inside I found a clean, quiet, efficient facility. I had asked for a quiet room--nothing is worse then checking into a hotel after a long drive and being placed amongst traveling sports teams, partiers, arguing couples, screaming children, etc.-- and my request was noted and honored. My room was quiet. The only sound I heard all night was traffic on the highway, which is soothing. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was sufficient for getting enough to eat and getting back on the road.If I were to make any suggestions for improvement, the facility is probably in need of new carpet as it looks a bit shopworn both in the hallways and my room. But it was clean, so that's a minor note. All in all, I was satisfied with my stay and would definitely consider staying here again the next time I make this drive.
