We always enjoy our walk along the High Line on every visit. This trip, we took the 14th St exit to a fantastic interpretation of a river island and enjoyed what again NYC has established for their citizens and visitors like us. Our appreciation to NYC.

Such a cool, free, NYC marvel. Highly recommend. You can walk for a couple miles, see 100 types of plants, many I'd never even heard of, watch the kids playing on instruments built into the experience, I would love to attend a show here as well but that you pay for. Had a food truck, bathrooms, and walking path so even if you have strollers or mild mobility issues you can enjoy the experience. Cool spot. Highly recommend. Right at the Chelsea Pier, near 57 I believe.

As a New Yorker, I watched Little Island under construction 8 years ago. I thought this project was trying too hard, so I was skeptical. So finally 5 years after it opened, I visited with friends on a beautiful day. Little Island is like taking a walking roller coaster through a well-developed landscape. Views to lower Manhattan and across the Hudson are worthwhile for tourists, but hardly the best views you'll find I this world-class city. Personally, I think The Highland is more interesting. Also if you get hungry after the climb, City Winery hosts a number of eateries.

The island really is little and you can walk the entire area in about 15 minutes if you don’t stop continuously to take pictures of the beautiful view. You get a great view of Manhattan and also, in the distance, the Statue of Liberty. The night we were there, a performance was held in the outdoor amphitheater. Next time we are in NYC, I would like to come here again, in the day, and look at the view.

Amazing and original creation! A sort of floating garden, with a viewpoint on top looking over the Hudson River. Interactive sound art pieces, especially appreciated by the kids. Highly recommend to visit, all the more so if you’re walking the High Line.
