tripadvisorWe thoroughly enjoyed our time with Travis and his mushroom education and foraging tour. Travis is a great patient teacher, his enthusiasm and passion for mushroom education is very evident. We learned a great deal in a short period of time, and left with a few very focused and actionable recommendations so we can easily carry on with our education ourselves. We also left with a few harvested mushroom species we had never heard of that Travis taught us how to identify (and thankfully verified:) ) which we cooked and ate that night! Highly recommend!
MoreTravis was incredibly knowledgeable. Our group of four consisted of three adults and one teen. We are all novices with mushroom foraging. Travis answered questions, talked about current events about mushrooms (i.e. taxonomy, research, experiments, etc.) all with an upbeat and humorous way. The tour was fascinating. We learned about mushrooms, slime molds, trees and plants. A wonderful time indeed!
MoreTravis is amazingly knowledgeable and expert in mushrooms and an inspirational teacher. His tour covers the basics and then advances to a plethora of fascinating details about mushrooms and insights into the surrounding forest. We all were amazed and amused for the full 3+ hours and highly recommend taking his tour. We even took home some choice edibles for Thanksgiving. A++
MoreTravis is an expert in mushrooms and an exceptional teacher. His tour not only covers fascinating details about mushrooms but also offers insights into the surrounding forest. I highly recommend joining his tour—you'll gain valuable knowledge and collect delicious mushrooms too!
MoreOur private tour with Travis was a fantastic mix of fun, learning, and fresh air. He’s a genuinely great guide—super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience approachable for the whole family. We came away with a deeper appreciation for the forest and all the fascinating fungi hiding in plain sight. Travis really is a fun guy, and his passion for mushrooms is clearly rooted in a love for the land. Highly recommend this tour—it's a great way to branch out and explore something new!
