tripadvisorSuper clean. Great view fromBalcony. Towels, chairs and parasols given for beach. Beach is so close. A great location to walk to everything. We booked online air b n b. 3 bedroom apartment
MoreWe have been staying at the Avalon often throughout the last 2 years. The staff is excellent and especially manager Karen! We highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel and enjoy all the attractions, many of which are walkable. Enjoy this slice of paradise!!☀️️
MoreWe have stayed here for 6 years and always had the best experience. But this year, the entire staff was above and beyond top notch. They made it difficult to leave because they felt like family. Angela, Mario, Karen and so many made this one of the most special trips. They loved our dog, Annie Rose, so much You know you are loved when staff has tears in their eyes when you leave. Highly recommend this place. It is truly home away from home for us
MoreAvalon Club was amazingly clean in our 3 bedroom,3 1/2 bath unit as well as public spaces- light, airy & relaxing environment. Everything from furniture to appliances was in great condition. Felt very safe there. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. My son enjoyed the heated pool - it’s small but does the job. The rooftop bar looked lovely with the fire tables. Beach chairs & umbrellas were convenient though some could stand to be replaced; beach towels were available & handy as well. We had a gulf view which did have a parking lot & a buildings below but that’s the trade off for being walkable to restaurants & shops. (Didn’t have or need a car except to airport & fishing charter) We enjoyed Palm Pavilion next door & down from that, Frenchy’s. Walked down to Pier 60 to fish-go in morning & get all day pass & fish til sundown -squid bait worked best for us (shrimp fell off easy). Beach in front of Avalon was spacious, clean & felt safe. There’s a city park across the street with pickleball courts (you can rent paddles & balls from Avalon) & a great playground for kids. If you’re looking for comfort, cleanliness & location, the Avalon is hard to beat!
MoreHas some great qualities that many will enjoy but my family and I did not enjoy our stay (combo buisness/vacation). The reason for the low rating is due to the following:1. Hair found on all the beds, possibly either from staff or not cleaning sheets/beddings.2. Floors sandy and dusty. We mopped the floors ourselves.3. Not well accommodated for people with disabilities. Terrible beds/pillows and very loud.4. Back to the loud part. Paper thin construction. It was loud/heard everything all day and night. Did not sleep resulting in a very early check out. We ended up not staying for the last night.5. No cigar smoking on the porches. Must smoke outside of building or garage designated area.Others may not mind most of this but the not sleeping and having to leave early pissed me off. 1 star. The rest like services was pretty good. Coffee was terrible which was odd since the staff was all Spanish and Spanish people usually make awsome coffee. Coffee was probably due to cheap generic garbage. Also, lots of hidden fees that are not disclosed until after you book the room. That was very upsetting. Just list all the fees up front. The parking is $35 each night. There is a $35 admin fee each night also. Two nights was about $154 with taxes. There is also a $200 hold not disclosed either. You get that back after 3 days of check out if there are no damages.
