tripadvisorWe stayed at Hotel Oceanside in July and had a terrible experience. Not only are the rooms outdated and smell musty, but we also had an incident the hotel management isn't even trying to help us resolve. Another car (probably another guest) hit our rental car overnight while we were parked in the hotel's parking lot. We immediately filed a police report and asked the hotel management to help us locate the person responsible for the damage. We need that info for the police and rental coverage reports. They agreed to help. However, it's been two weeks and the management isn't responding to any of our calls for a follow-up. The staff keep telling us a different story every time: they need to get the camera company in to unlock the footage, they're looking at the footage, manager not in or late today, etc. It's very frustrsting and disappointing, as we though this would be a decent and simple thing for them to help us with. Just a heads up to others.
MoreI paid for my stay in full before arrival and had a credit card on file. The hotel's own pre-arrival email states the $200 deposit can be paid by card (chip and matching ID required) and that cash-only deposits apply to check-ins after 10:00 pm. I checked in around 6:00 pm - and was told my deposit had to be cash. Nothing at booking or before arrival said this, so I had to come up with $200 in cash on the spot. When I showed the front desk agent their own email, her response was: What do you want me to do about it? and What do you want me to say? No apology, no explanation. I said honestly, nothing and walked away. The bathroom didn't help: empty toilet paper and paper towel dispensers, no seat covers, no soap, ants on the wall, and rusted fixtures. I took photos of all of it.The location is convenient, but between a surprise cash demand that contradicts the hotel's own written policy and the way staff responded when I pointed it out, I wouldn't stay here again.
MoreI was traveling with my service dog. Not only did the owner ask my what my disability is she also questioned how I was able to have a driver's license. Both illegal actions. She could have asked me what my dog was trained to help me with but instead she tried to shame me for my disability. She was hostile and extremely rude. I feel sorry for her employees. It is clear that she is not a kind person. Read the google reviews as I wish I had before our stay. Her responses to those that make complaints are unprofessional, aggressive and rude.
MoreLooks nice from the outside but indoors it is grubby and old. Very few amenities and I can't believe I am saying this but I think Motel 6 would have been preferable. Spend the extra money while in the area and stay at a comfortable hotel.
MoreThis is a beautiful hotel, but looks are deceiving. They are INFESTED with BED BUGS. I was bit 132 times. I also had itchy head, so I had to treat my head with Lice treatment. They have not refunded our money.I WOULD REALLY HATE TO SEE A CHILD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS HORRIBLE MEDICAL SITUATION. THE BITES ARE ICHY, UGLY, TRAMATIZING AND THEY GOT INFECTED.
