Part of the Channel Islands National Park, this volcanic island is one of the smallest in the Channel Islands archipelago. The island itself is comprised of three small islets, each of which exhibits unique geological landmarks formed due to erosive action over the years. Sea stacks, caves, arches, and blowholes make up some of the formations on the island. A marine wonderland, the island is also home to a host of flora and fauna, as well as a thriving birdlife. From majestic sea lions that throng the shore to Great White sharks and endemic plant species, there is much to discover on the island whose natural elements create a conducive habitat for a host of species. Tourists visiting the island will find plenty to explore on a one-day trip, although they should be aware that resources on the island are limited.
