Santa Rosa Island
Landmark
Santa Rosa is an ecologically diverse island that is a part of the Channel Islands National Park. The island, which dates back to the last ice age, is home to several endemic and highly endangered species of flora and fauna, including the Munchkin Dudleya, Torrey Pine, spotted skunk, and island fox. Aside from this, the beaches and the waters surrounding the island also form valuable ecosystems for marine life, which ranges from small fish and birds to sharks and the occasional whale. A bevy of water sports and other activities are allowed here, including kayaking, hiking, and camping.
