The historical preservation of the Rotunda and the nearby chapel and gardens is amazing to see. One is transported back in time to perhaps a less complicated and more innocent era

I should have read the reviews before taking this tour. It was NOT a historical tour but rather a University of Virginia bashing tour and social justice diatribe.Walked away not having learned anything about the history of the university. Well the first 10 minutes or so was dedicated to its founding but then ensued 50 minutes of social justice happenings at the university.Not sure why they don’t just do a separate tour on the social justice history of the university and then do a real historical tour.Until then don’t waste your time on this thing.

The worst tour we have ever attended. It was more of a social Justice tour discussing not aspects of the University but a lecture on why you should fell guilty being white and anti- American tones.. It was so bad, we had to just walk away. Very sad how our campuses are just filled with hate for the USA

Absolutely the worst tour I have ever taken. Our guide spoke only of the demeaning aspects of slavery wrought by white people, eugenics (against black people), a little about injustice to women. There was no talk of Jefferson, architecture, prominent alumni, faculty or any other redeeming qualities of the University. I would not recommend this tour if you want any kind of informative information about Jefferson or the University.

A free tour is a tempting platform for a student tour guide to posture their personal agenda. Seriously, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME on this guided Historical Tour, unless you want a sermon on social justice. Maybe it was just this one particular guide, but based on the other reviews, I doubt it.
