tripadvisorMy wife and I took the Lakes and Landmarks tour. Brant My wife and I took the Lakes and Landmarks tour. Brant Gray did a great job showing us local history and locations. Awesome tour!
MoreWe took the Lakes & Landmarks Branson Sunset Tour for two hours. It was not cheap as with the tickets and tax (but not tip) it cost us $100 per person but since it was our last night, we wanted to do something special. Our tour guide was Marvin, and he was friendly and knowledgeable. I took the tour with my wife and daughter, and then four other people were there. Since the back of the jeep could hold six, my daughter was basically drafted to sit in the passenger seat. While she wasn’t initially thrilled, it worked out as since it was a very hot day, so the AC was blasting on her.For the tour itself, we first went to Table Lake River and Dam, and we got the history and it was interesting. After that, he drove into an exclusive area so we could get to the summit of Baird Mountain. Once you get to this portion, you’ll definably want to hang on tight as it gets really rough and you’ll want to make sure any loose items are secured (as a side note, I’m not sure how they came up with the ‘bumpy meter’ of 3 out of 5 as all of the other tours had the same rating so that isn’t helpful).Once we made it to the top, the sunset view was great and Marvin mentioned we lucked out as the previous nights it wasn’t clear. You get plenty of time to take pictures or just soak in the views. You can also see other states from the view. There’s also a cabin and he explained the history. We then left around 8:20 and I had a feeling we were just going to drive back to the parking lot and sure enough a few minutes later we started to get the usual ‘please leave us a review’ talk and the tour ended at 8:40. Considering we didn’t start until 7:05/7:10, we essentially only got a 90 minute tour, not two hours as promised so that was disappointing. I’m sure with Marvin’s experience he could have made another stop, but I’m guessing he had a long day and just wanted to go home. I guess I should be happy that the tour even happened, as he mentioned afterwards three other jeeps had issues during the week. To top it off, my daughter wanted to buy some items at the gift store, but the worker claimed the computers were not working so we couldn’t make the purchase and had to come back the next day to get it.While we enjoyed the tour, considering the cost and we did not even get the full time promised, I doubt we will do a different one.
MoreOur tour guide was fine- but I cannot recommend this adventure - especially not a private tour for 8. Why you ask? 1) the configuration of the seats was very poor- we could not see things being pointed out behind us. 2) the jeep should not have been marketed for 8 adults - 6 maybe as max. 3) the safety handles were too short for all to use safely. I questioned how the safety of a child would be ensured as well. 4) the front vinyl closure around the driver restricted airflow and ventilation behind the driver for guests on driver side. 5) the vehicle exhaust needs to be turned at the back right where I was. The heat and fumes coming in for that back right passenger were no joke. 6) the audio with the headset was not a good choice, especially with highway noise. We’ve taken tours before where the speakers in the back made clear what our guide or driver was saying. Our tour guide Bobby was great but it was not an enjoyable trip for our group of 8 adults crammed into a small area where we couldn’t hear well nor see anything but each other and over the shoulder of the person across from you. Good thing we were all friends.
MoreWe loved our tour with Elaine! Bonus was pickup at the resort we were staying at. I don't want to give away any of the surprises for the tour- we picked the landmarks trip. There are different trips to pick from. A very fun way to enjoy time in Branson. Her recommendation on a restaurant gave us a wonderful lunch spot the next day!
MoreBest of Branson is the tour we took, Mel was our guide. We absolutely loved the adventure. Mel was so kind, informative and great with history of the area.
