Top-end finishes in large guest rooms combined with great service set this apart. It’s expensive but the attentive butler service is particularly special. And it’s relatively new and feels like it.

I had high expectations for Raffles Boston, and in some ways the hotel met them but otherwise fell short. To start with the positives, we absolutely loved the Long Bar and Terrace and The Blind Duck. The service at The Blind Duck particularly was excellent, and the cocktails were delicious. The views from the terrace was just beautiful during sunset. The rooms were also beautifully decorated and comfortable, and the housekeepers were very good. The location was great, we enjoyed going to Tatte across the street. I also enjoyed the pool and spa. As far as the negatives go, I felt the general service was not up to standard for a hotel of this calibre, nor price point. The butler service is a gimmick, unfortunately. I had some issues with a security tag accidentally left on an item I bought from the airport and it was like pulling teeth trying to get anything other than an AI response from the “butler” to see if anyone could help. Any other five star hotel would have attempted to solve my problem in a heartbeat. In the end I gave up with the ai butler completely. We were also emailed asking about pillow preferences prior to arrival, I had never had one before so I thought I’d try a buckwheat pillow, but when we arrived it was just a standard pillow. Which was absolutely fine, I just felt a little bit silly for spending time choosing a pillow when it didn’t end up mattering. The reception area is up the lift which makes the welcome feel more low key rather than luxurious, which has its pros and cons. We didn’t bring out dog but we loved that it was dog friendly! I would potentially stay again, to see if the hotel had ironed out the kinks as it is a really comfortable hotel with beautiful restaurants and bars.

Overall a good experience . Great location & beautiful decor . The butler is really in essence a WhatsApp’s contact , but I like that there is one point of contact and it’s so easy to make requests and the replies are responsive We loved and Blind Duck & the Long bar . The Long Bar food and service were very good On we point was on arrival , we were shown to reception where both desks were in use , which is fine , but no one was there to guide us , to greet us . We waited a while (15 mins) and finally sat and checked in . Only to be told no butlers available to show us yo our room - one had arrived but was allocated to the couple checking in who arrived after us .. I’m platinum also ( now diamond ) so it wasn’t a great welcome after a long flight . Given the wait at reception I asked if our Long Bar reservation could be pushed back 15 minutes.. answer was no . That wasn’t good But we did have a good 3 night stay once settled

I stayed both here, and the Four Seasons Back Bay, in September 2026. Raffles was hands down better. From the comfy bed to the immaculate bathroom to the absolutely spectacular common areas. We had no problem or wait with checkin. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The room (Premier King) is well appointed, spotless, and quite comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The spa at Raffles is excellent, with a cozy waiting area and housekeeping that is very attentive. (One complaint, however, with the spa: there was small amount of mold in the women's shower.) The massage itself was heavenly. The pool area is so very nice, what a cool vibe! The 17th floor relaxation lounge is absolutely beautiful. On that floor is also a bar/restaurant with outdoor seating. We had drinks/food sitting at the bar on two occasions and the view/atmosphere cannot be beat! Actually, I take that back...the view and atmosphere from the 18th floor speakeasy cannot be beat! Wow! And then to top things off, the hottest restaurant in town is located on the 2nd floor (La Padrona) and the staff was helpful in securing us seats in this popular, fully-booked restaurant (twice). Usually, hotels and rentals gross me out, but I'm genuinely looking forward to returning to Raffles.

This is not a luxury 5 star hotel. When I arrived there was no one holding door or welcoming guests. I struggled through the heavy door in the wind with my suitcase and joined a queue. When I reached the front of the queue there was no warm welcome, no smile, no apology for waiting. The female receptionist barely spoke and was unfriendly, bordering rude. There was no offer to help with bags to my room.In the room there was an extremely loud industrial fan noise coming from outside, thee claimed the noisy was from their air system and that it was a known issue across the hotel and was the same in every room. I was woken up around 4am every morning by activity outside the windows which sounded like bottle bins being emptied. The room design is poor, there are limited plugs. Each side of the bed either had lights or a plug socket so you couldn't both use the lights and charge a phone.Multiple times I smelt food in my room, presumably from the problematic air system. Doors are noisy across the hotel with no soft close. The only positive staff interactions were with the housekeeping staff (who I just passed in the corridors) and room service who made real efforts to be friendly and warm, in stark contrast to reception. The butler service appeared to be an automated phone service - I didn't encounter anything helpful from a butler during the stay. During checkout the woman didn't speak the whole time. No acknowledgement when I said I was checking out, no warmth, no questions about how my stay was, the only time she spoke was to ask for my email address. This isn't a five start hotel and I would not stay at this hotel again.
