Taking the ferry over on a crisp Tuesday afternoon around 4 PM was totally worth it. The absolute highlight was floating in the warm outdoor pool right as the sun started going down behind lower Manhattan. The water was toasty warm while the air had that early fall chill, and just resting your arms on the edge of the pool watching the boats pass by with that stunning skylline in front of you was unbelievable. We stayed in that water for nearly two hours straight because we could not pull ourselves away from that view, especially when the city lights began turning on around 6 PM. The setting is very unique compared to any normal day spa. Grabbing our robes and slippers was easy, and later on we walked over to the cafe building for some sparkling water and snacks before heading back out to the grounds. Floating out there watching New York from across the water is something I will never forget.

Trashy & Rude Customer Service — First Impressions Matter!I called on August 24th at 1:24 PM to inquire about spa packages because I was considering planning a team-building experience for my staff and I. Unfortunately, the customer service I received completely changed my mind about spending my money at this establishment. The woman who answered the phone had an extremely unpleasant and dismissive attitude throughout the conversation. I was simply asking questions about the services and packages, yet her tone made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her by calling. After I thanked her for the information, she hung up the phone in my ear while I was still speaking. There was no “thank you,” no “have a great day,” and certainly no apology.I immediately called back because I wanted to get her name and address the situation. Instead, she refused to provide her name and responded with, “What do you want? If you have any more questions, ask.” The irony is that she never gave me the opportunity to finish speaking before she abruptly ended the first call. That interaction was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary.First impressions matter. I was calling as a potential customer looking to spend money with your business and potentially bring several people with me. Instead, the customer service I received ensured that I will be taking my business elsewhere.I sincerely hope this company records its calls for quality assurance because if that conversation was recorded, there was nothing “quality” about the service I received.Very disappointing. Very unprofessional. Very trashy. Customer service needs serious improvement.

Located on Governors Island and accessible via a complimentary ferry (with each purchased ticket), QC NY is a spa with character, unlike any other I have visited across the world. It boasts many different full body experiences across two beautiful buildings, including steam rooms, dry saunas, pools and more. There’s a Bistro, restaurant and bar, as well as a fully stocked shop, for all your spa-at-home supplies.Getting to QC NY is an interesting one - a short ferry ride from Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street in Lower Manhattan, they depart every thirty minutes throughout the day. It’s a relaxing trip taking no more than ten minutes, and offers fantastic, uninterrupted views of lower Manhattan, as well as the Brooklyn Bridge, and even the Statue of Liberty off in the distance. No sooner have you settled down and taking in the sights is it time to get off! It’s less than five minutes walk from the dock to the entrance of QC NY - just head up the hill and follow the path round to the right. The spa has been built in an old army barracks and has a beautiful exterior. With windows set into the brickwork, you get a glimpse into the foyer and reception as you walk past, and in an evening it looks truly inviting. The check in process was quick and easy - you do require ID to check in. You’ve given a wristband that acts as your locker key (assigned at check in), and sent on your way. Heading to the elevator, the changing rooms are a Male/Female split, across two different floors. The changing rooms were large, though in a one-way-in formation. There are privacy cubicles if you require them, alongside showers, sinks, hair dryers and other standard facilities you’d expect in a spa changing rooms. You’ve provided a Spa bag (yours to keep), including a robe, towels and flipflops. These can be stored in the lockers during your visit if not required, though I recommend making use of the footwear as the place can get a little wet with all the water facilities. We had a leisurely exploration of the first building, spiralling down through the floors, soaking in the different experiences. We found a lovely little room with hanging egg-shaped chairs that looked out onto the skyline view, and this was a great place to start our evening. We chatted for a little bit before exploring further, finding the most delicious apple cider (non-alcoholic) in a room with nothing but a record player, the old fashioned kind. This really was a cute place to relax. The outdoor pool is a spectacle to behold. Facing the Lower Manhattan skyline, it’s split across two levels - the lower (closest to the river) and the higher (closest to the building), it was perfectly centred between both buildings, making it aesthetically pleasing on the eye from all angles. It was a cold, snowy January day (during the cold snap that took the state by storm), so the snow on the ground and the steam rising from the water made everything that little bit more magical. There were not too many people in the pool, and there was plenty of space to move around. It was a fantastic temperature too.The upper pool was completely empty, and had even more space to move around. There is a row of relaxing bubble massage chairs that face the skyline that were perfect - gently invigorating without being “too much”, we spent a fair amount of time in these, just soaking up the atmosphere and having a chat. There is also a lifeguard on duty (one for each pool), which is appreciated. We braided a quick exit and shuffled into our robes before dashing into the Bistro for warmth. Collecting our Aperitivo tray and drinks (included in the package we had booked), we took them outside to the domes that surrounded the pool. Each one had a cute little firepit and the same stunning views as before, and we took twenty minutes to just relax, snack and have a drink whilst keeping toasty by the fire. This was probably my most enjoyable part of the entire QC NY spa experience and I really recommend taking some time out just to stop and relax. The drinks were great and the snacks were plentiful. We realised the time and as we only had 45 minutes left, headed to the second (as yet unexplored) building, where we quickly realised we would not have enough time to complete everything! There were an abundance of different steam rooms and dry saunas, each with a different style. An unexpected delight was an ice room with the most perfect echo (if you stood in the right place). Again, each room is perfectly themed and quaint, and it’s worth visiting each and every one. Some of the rooms come with an added “ritual” that they recommend you complete. These are complimentary and add to the experience. I particularly enjoyed the powdered one in one of the ground floor steam showers as it felt fantastic. Sadly, our time was nearing an end (we really did not leave long enough for this side of the building), and after our final steam room, we headed back up to the changing rooms where we threw our clothes on to ensure we caught the last ferry - we did not fancy getting stuck with no way back to Manhattan!Unfortunately, due to the nature of this being a spa, I was unable to take as many photos as I’d have liked. However, I did (with permission) use an Insta360 device to capture 360 video - this will be published alongside this piece. The staff were polite, enthusiastic and full of life, ready to answer any questions we had during our visit. The snacks were great, and the alcoholic beverages were lovely. The facilities at QC NY spa surpassed my expectations, and there were so many options, with something to suit every spa goer. The view cannot be underestimated, and only by being off of the mainland do you appreciate the scale of the skyscrapers and skyline before you. It truly is mesmerising. I highly recommend a visit to QC NY and will be returning on every future trip to the city.

Loved the saunas, and wet rooms but the outdoor pools were amazing especially during a cold night. Little confusing at first to find your way around but still very relaxing and enjoyable. Didn’t get any extra treatments. Restaurant/bar area could be a lot better. Food was only average. Was great to spend the day with the wife there, lots of couples around. Setting is quite romantic especially in the dark and foggy night and as the fog moved and the city came into view.

I purchased a trip to QC NY Spa for my wife’s birthday attending on the 2nd January. I had also purchased two massages for the both of us. Upon arrival the facilities and views were great and as advertised. We spent some time in the outdoor pools with great views of Manhattan. We then went upstairs to wait for our massages. This is where things started to go wrong. I was taken in for my massage but unbeknownst to me my wife’s masseuse did not turn up. Now these things happen and we appreciate that but no one in the facility seemed to know this. As a result we were not given the opportunity for me to swap so that my wife could get the massage I had bought for her birthday.Again these things can happen but the staff were completely unprepared for this and we were treated with contempt from that point on. At every turn the staff were attempting topalm us off and did not seem willing or able to accept our frustration and disappointment. Every person we encountered basically said they were not empowered enough to handle our complaint but at no time were we given an opportunity to speak with management despite multiple requests. Eventually we were refunded the massage and the tip that I had pre-paid but I had to spend a lot of time debating this with the staff. Main note, do not pre-pay a tip. Wait till after your experience. I was also eventually palmed off with the promise that consideration would be given for further compensation once management were consulted. 4 days later I received an email saying this had been denied by the management which was no surprise following our treatment in person.QCNY is undoubtedly a luxury location and if all goes well I have no doubt it would have been a good trip but our treatment by what was clearly an unprepared team of staff not equipped for things going wrong was unacceptable and we will not be returning. For a company advertising wellness it appears the management and staff do not value that in their customers experience.
