tripadvisorI am not someone who leaves negative reviews lightly, but what I witnessed today was disturbing enough that I feel compelled to share it.While paddling nearby, I overheard what appeared to be an employee of this company loudly berating a visibly pregnant woman in public. Using extremely vulgar profanity, loud enough for people around near and far to hear. Yelling, cursing, degrading, and repeatedly calling the woman terrible names. The woman was clearly upset and visibly distressed. She appeared to cry as the man walked away. I understand that personal disagreements happen, but there is a time, place, and level of professionalism that should be expected from someone representing a business. Watching an employee publicly humiliate and verbally attack a pregnant woman was shocking and deeply uncomfortable for everyone within earshot. What concerned me most was not the disagreement itself, but the complete lack of professionalism, self-control, and basic respect displayed during the interaction of the man. If this is how this employee conducts themselves in public while associated with the company, it raises serious questions about the character and judgment of the people representing the business.I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously. Regardless of the circumstances, no customer or member of the public should have to witness behavior like this from someone connected to a professional company.
MoreDo not book! As a local, I am appalled at their videos showing multiple people swarming around a manatee & petting them! This is 100% illegal in the state of Florida! Their license should be revoked.
MoreOutstanding experience with Go Local Manatee Tours. Although the water was murky we were able to see two manatees (it is off season). Josh and Derick were informative and entertaining. The included pictures is an added bonus. Thank you!
MoreThis experience was everything I hoped it would be! Since we had 5 in our group, we got the entire boat to ourselves. We had 2 tour guides - I can't remember their names :( - with us and they were so wonderful! Because our tour guides grew up and still live locally, they know the history of the area and they know where to find the Manatees, what each of their names are, etc. The first place we stopped - we got to swim up close and personal with two Manatees. It was amazing! They truly are just big gentle giants in the water. Anyway, if you want to see Manatees, I highly recommend booking a tour with this company. Not only do they know where to go to find Manatees, they know how to interact with them to ensure a better experience AND they include all the photos and Go Pro videos with the price of your ticket! I included a few photos with this review. One piece of advice...if you choose to swim with them like we did and you really want to get close to them, make sure you listen and follow the instructions of your guide(s). We followed his instructions and were all able to get very close. One swam slowly right under my son and I, so we had to lift our legs not to accidentally brush against or kick the Manatee - which can startle them and make them swim away. But also, make sure you don't touch them because they are protected! :)
MoreI cannot recommend Go Local Manatee Tours enough! My family and I recently did a private tour, and it was an incredible experience. The captain and guide were extremely knowledge and went out of their way to find a secluded space for us to swim with manatees. They found us a “once in a lifetime” experience- a mama manatee nursing her young calf. They are dedicated to providing an experience that is both enjoyable and respects the safety and environment of these amazing creatures. I can’t wait to do it again!
