We love hard and we play hard. My career background is in law enforcement. I see the worst in humanity every day and my saving grace is animals. Especially dogs. I currently have a hound shepherd mix that is 3 named Daxton. She loves dock diving, is terrible at fetch but is working at it and has experience with bike joring. Yeah didn’t know that was a thing until I met a husky namer Willow. Cool stuff. Before Daxton I rescued a mutt that i named Goose (RIP bud) . I wear his dog tag to this day around my neck. He was an adrenaline junkie like me. I took him rock climbing, cliff jumping, etc. dog feared nothing, except man. Poor guy had been severely abused. I had the opportunity to rescue a deaf Australian Shepherd named maverick. Funny I had not seen top gun at the time that I had goose and maverick and everyone gave me a hard time and I was very confused. Learned how to train him to hand signals. Probably the most frustrated I had been in my life with an animal. Not because of him. He was amazing, But for him. I felt as though I was failing him for awhile. Amazing boy. Found him a home in Canada with a woman who was also deaf. It was such a bittersweet adventure. Yeah I may be rambling but my point is: dogs. They deserve the best. People in my life judge me because of how strongly I believe in that statement. But I believe in dogs before I believe in people. They have yet to let me down and I will never let them down. At Nose to Tail we care hard.
